The Gongs

Dream Gong

My gong in my garden.

He came here from Johannes Heimerath's Sona Gong Manufaktur, situated literally at the shores of the North Sea. During his work at Paiste, famous for their instruments and foremost their symphonic gongs for orchestras, Johannes devised an entirely new type of gong: the Planet Gongs. Since around 20 years, he now produces them in his small manufactury. I visited him there and let „my“ gong call me :-) He is played while hanging on a special stand; However, his weight is still light enough for me to carry him during sessions to play directly over clients.

Traditional Vietnamese Gongs

A vietnamese gong. An other vietnamese gong.

Sonic Boom!

Vietnamese Bossed Gongs (they have a raised boss in the middle of the metal disc) are used for ritual, ceremony and my SoundBaths. :-) With their exceptional sound unlike any "normal" gong, they can transport you in to meditation or even trance. They are not only calming and relaxing, but also centering and transforming. Don'T miss out on this very special experience!

The Monochords

A monochord is a very special instrument bound to bring deep relaxation. The chords stringed over a sound box or resonating body are all tuned on the same note. By gently playing the chords, a fascinating and soothing soundscape rich in overtones arise.
Both monochords can be played on the body, which intensifies the sound experience many times over; this is why both are half moon shaped on the back

One of the Monochords can be placed on a special kind of chair, so that the client can lean onto it, while I play.
One is tuned to the note C, the other to the note G - again: the perfect fifth…

The Drums

Black Bahia

A drum on a azure blanket.

My drum is a Black Bahia, painted with female tribal patterns by an artist in New Zealand.
Drums are one of the most archaic instruments of the world and can be played in many different ways and for different purposes, depending on your needs at this precise moment of the session.
Normally, and especially during the first sessions during which I get to know you better, I would play it very gentle; anyway always starting slowly at the beginning, then see and feel how the drum wants to be played for you. Maybe a gentle slow heart beat, maybe fast even drumming for deep relaxation and journeying, maybe only on the bottom for grounding together with a special rhythm for eg creativeness.
To sum it up - drumming balances physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
By the way: A drum can be placed on the body, too. Welcome to new sound and vibration experiences…

Ocean drum

A drum on a azure blanket.

Feel the power of the oceans and let wave upon wave wash over you like a sound waterfall; cleansing, grounding and refreshing you at the end of every SoundBath.

The Bowls

Crystal Bowls

Crystal bowls with a drum in the background.

4 perfect pitch platinum infused practitioner crystal bowls from Glastonbury:
C (1. Chakra)
G (5. Chakra) - played together they sound out the "perfect fifth" - best relaxation ever
E (4. chakra)
F sharp: (Higher Heart)

"Practitioner bowls" have handles, so they help me with energy work during sound healing (e.g. "scooping off" excess energy / pouring in energy in depleted areas of the body).

Tibetan Bowls

Four tibetan bowls on a azure blanket.

Tibetan Bowls are mostly played when placed on the body.
There are different ways to work with Tibetan bowls - you can either start at the feet and work your way up the body, first on the back, then on the front.
However, if it is only a short interval during a longer session, one would place the two bigger bowls on two chakras and play them simultaneously, the smaller bowl being place alternately on to the palm of one hand, ending the interval with the smallest bowl being played around the head, while the two bigger ones are still being played as well.

Other treasures

Therapeutic Tuning Forks

Tuning forks on a azure blanket.

A greater variety of Therapeutic Tuning Forks - eg one set of Solfeggio forks comprising one octave
Their usage is more or less reserved for 1-2-1-sessions. They are played next to the ears, balancing out left and right hemisphere of the brain;
in addition, they are played to specific protocols (calming anxiety, better sleep, motivation, balancing nervous system, etc.)
The much bigger weighted „Otto“ Tuning fork 64 Hz is placed on the body to release muscle tension; the 32 Hz one is played just above the skin to get the lymph fluids in motion.

Tubular gongs

Tubular gongs an a blue blanket.

Delightful wind chime sounds twirl around you in deep harmony - carrying you in higher realms on their wings.

Chime

A chime in a tree.

This chime is called "Blue Moon". Its gentle sounds call you back from your journey, indicating that it is time to slowly find your way back to the here and now.
I cocoon you in to spherical sounds, also using it as an assessment tool to check how you and especially your chakras are doing after the session.

Burmese Spinning Gong

Burmese Spinning Gong on a blue blanket.

Clear gong sound - swinging over you, calling you in for a deep sound experience.

Hokema

Tingsha on a blue blanket.

Gentle sound patterns trickle soothingly down on you;
every song is unique - created in the moment just for you.

Rattles

Two green rattles on a violet blanket in the garden.

Rattles are used to indicate that now it is time to open your eyes again, do a bit of stretching, wiggling of toes, maybe yawning… It helps to get grounded after a session, calling you and your soul firmly back in to the here and now.
(Please tell me beforehand, if you are afraid of snakes - otherwise your grounding might be faster than you wish for) ;-)
